Eldora Ski Patrol

We, the professionals of Eldora Ski Patrol, work hard in providing top-quality emergency response, patient care, and mountain management to one of Colorado’s busiest ski areas. Our daily responsibilities include a myriad of tasks on which the mountain depends, including hazard assessment, risk mitigation, and snow safety work. We are proud to work for Eldora Mountain Resort, and to help provide the Front Range and beyond with a safe, fun, and inclusive local ski area. We love what we do, which is why we so frequently go the extra mile for the benefit of the greater community. Our primary goal in organizing is to give our patrollers the support they need to continue returning year after year as stewards of our mountain.

As ski patrollers, we feel an urgent need for change in order to envision a sustainable future in patrol work.

When Vail Resorts merged The Canyons with neighboring Park City Mountain Resort in 2015, the newly combined patrol programs voted to maintain the union for patrollers across both sides of the resort under the PCPSPA. In doing so, they also brought Mountain Safety workers into their bargaining unit.

PCPSPA is proud to represent a group of many talented & tenured patrollers who keep the spirit of solidarity alive!

Solitude Ski Patrol

Ava Gannon, 1st year:

"I'm looking forward to working in a place where there is already an established support system for employees through a union. The unionization of the patrol at Solitude was attractive to me because it meant the patrollers were being proactive about pushing for changes they wanted to see."

Athyn Scofield, 5th year:

"Going into my 5th season as a Ski Patroller has me more committed than ever to providing a fun and safe mountain experience for our guests at Solitude and beyond. With that, it is my firm belief that our Union is going to help create a more welcoming, experienced team that will help support our mountain community in the Wasatch."

Steamboat Ski Patrol

Steamboat Ski Patrol unionized in 1998 when drastic changes were implemented to patrol after a change in the ski area's ownership.  Currently the Steamboat unit has 72 members, representing over 95% of veteran patrollers.  Steamboat is facing serious congestion challenges on the slopes with the advent of the Ikon Pass, a critical lack of affordable housing, and a dramatic rise in cost of living over the past 5 years.  Steamboat's Patrol Union is proud to continue the struggle to create working and wage conditions that allow all Patrollers to thrive in our unique mountain community.
